First Recording Session

I’ve recorded on a computer at home since my freshman year of college. I have recorded in a studio in Nashville via a friend’s family connections. I’ve recorded in a studio at a church. And I’ve recorded in someone’s home studio. All these experiences have prepared me for this one moment. The moment I go in to professionally record my first single. I am paying big money for a seasoned producer, but when I walked into John Carrozza’s studio Thursday morning, I felt like I was walking into a good friend’s house. He greeted me warmly as I entered and made me feel like I had known him my whole life as we set up to record some scratch tracks. Basically, we were able to record my guitar and vocals in one take.

In looking for a producer for the past four months, one thing that was so important to me was feeling like the person I was choosing was a good fit. Someone who was knowledgeable but also supportive. Confident but not pushy. Someone who would allow me to be the best artist I could be while making my music the best it could be. I couldn’t be more thankful to have found John.

So now that a basic track is done, we are looking at recording with the other musicians the second week of September which should give us a completed project by the following Monday or Tuesday. I am constantly in awe at how natural this has all felt. Since the first bumpy moments of launching the Kickstarter and being nervous about reaching the goal, it has been so enjoyable to walk through the process. And I’m finally to the most fun part: Seeing my vision come alive. I can’t thank you who gave to the Kickstarter enough. I wouldn’t be here doing this without you, and I’m confident you guys will really enjoy the finished product.
